Is it worth having Lightning Breath and Bite?

Lightning Breath is great because it's a ranged attack, and you can keep your pet in the background and constantly use this attack rather then have him rush into melee range. You can keep him out of harm's way. Although it does use a lot of focus, if you have points invested in "Go For the Throat" found under the MarksMan Tree, it will hopefully replenish your pet's focus a bit ;)
Now as for Bite, it's a great addition for when your pet is in melee range. I believe it uses less energy then Lightning Breath, so your pet should be able to use it more often.
It's more about personal preference and what you see yourself doing with your pet. Do you want them to be a ranged attacker? Great for pvp, and pve when you first start the fight. Or more of a melee attacker, great for after you've started the fight, and you want your pet to get in more bites.
I personally would stick with the Lightning Breath but that's me ;) Say for example you start out fighting a mob, your pet uses lightning breath once, and goes into melee range. You start firing off arrows, and the mob suddenly turns to you, but you're 41 yards away, so as it's running toward you, your pet gets out of melee range, and begins to use Lightning breath again, instead of having to catch up to the mob and hitting in melee.-Iggi - Surivalist - Level 80 Orc Hunter

If you stopped comparing yourself to others, do you think you would enjoy life more?Lightning Breath is quite cool because your pet can get two hits in before your pet actually reaches the target. I love it personally but yeah it does use up a lot of Focus. -Server - Gurubashi
